Falling Into Sin
1. The questioning of God’s Word by Satan (3:1-6)
A. Satan asks Eve about eating from any tree of the garden
1. Eve’s response took from God’s Word
May eat freely to may eat
2. Eve’s response added to God’s Word
Nor shall we touch it
3. Eve’s response changed God’s Word
You shall surely die to lest you die
B. Satan tells Eve, she will be like God
1. The tree is eatable and a delight to the eyes
2. The tree is desirable
3. The tree’s fruit eaten by Eve and Adam
2. Their eyes opened to sin (3:7-13)
A. The first cover up by sewing fig leaves together
They realized they were naked
B. The second cover up by hiding amongst the trees
God was walking in the garden
C. The third cover up by blaming others
1. Adam blames Eve the women God gave him
2. Eve blames the serpent
3. In His judgment, God gives hope (3:14-24)
A. The enmity between Satan’s family and God’s family
1. Satan bruised Christ on his heal
2. Christ crushed Satan on the head
B. God keeps them from the tree of life
1. God drove man out of the Garden of Eden
2. Cherubim guarding the tree
